Al Shurah

The Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia, Shura Council, is one of the oldest councils in Saudi Arabia since the late King Abdul-Aziz called for its establishment in 1924. The council is responsible for applying Shariah (Islamic Jurisprudence) and Shura as parts of it by which critical decisions are taken upon approval from the board members who represent their people. Shura council has the power to propose laws to the King of Saudi Arabia and his cabinet to be examined and passed. The current panel is headed by DR. Abdullah Al-Sheikh as the speaker of the council in addition to 150 members who are all chosen from elite scholars with top-notch knowledge, experience, and competence.

The council consists of 15 committees which are Islamic and Judicial Affairs, Commerce and Investment, Energy and Industry, Security and Military Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Human Resources, and Social Development, Education and Scientific Research, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Media, Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs, Health Affairs, Transportation, Communications and Information Technology, Human Rights, Hajj, Housing and Services, Water, and Agriculture and Environment. Each one of these committees includes one chairman, vice chairman, 8 board members, and dedicated employees, making managing the daily tasks of the council a real challenge. The council staff struggled with fragmented documentation and interlaced tasks and needed to digitally transform to streamline operations and simplify the process of searching for documents in each category. 

asgatech built the official app of the Shura Council employees to improve internal communication and simplify locating and accessing documents. The newly developed app utilizes smart filters and is designed with the all-on-one-screen concept so the user can search, filter, and view documents all in one screen with an intuitive, easy-to-use UI. The app is integrated with all the other Shura systems and built to provide smooth transitions with animations to help search inside each category with fewer steps. asgatech teams of development built this robust app using Android Native and iOS native technologies 

The new Shura app provided a convenient smooth way of streamlining operations inside the council and is considered one of the cornerstones of the Majlis digital transformation. Besides the core mission of the app, now it features daily council news, Shura council magazine, and the achievements of the council.
